Jon K. Wactor

Since 1982, Jon has been exclusively involved
in resolving the environmental problems of real estate developers,
landowners, lenders, manufacturers, mining companies and others
under federal, state and local environmental programs.
He has handled the environmental aspects of
over 150 large commercial, industrial and residential real
estate developments located throughout the United States.
This work includes resolving problems related to property
acquisition, financing and sale, contamination, wetlands,
endangered species, human health, archaeological and historic
resources, agency requirements, and environmental insurance.
Jon also has significant experience counseling
and defending clients in environmental enforcement actions
at the federal, state and local levels, and
has testified as an environmental law expert. He is admitted to practice in the
state and federal courts in California and Arizona, the 9th Circuit Court of
Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
From 1982 through 1989, he was an Enforcement
Counsel for the U.S. EPA and an Assistant Attorney General
with the State of Arizona. He is the author of a number of
professional articles regarding environmental law topics and
is a regular speaker at professional environmental conferences.
Jon was recognized in American Lawyer's The
San Francisco Recorder in November 2003 as the San Francisco
Bay Area's "go to" lawyer for contaminated property
redevelopments. He was also recognized in the 2003 edition of Outstanding Lawyers
of America listing, in the 2000 edition of Who's Who in American Law, and as
an AV-rated (highest) attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
He was a member of the State Bar of California Environmental
law Section Executive Committee, 2001-04, and Chair of the San Francisco Bar
Association's Environmental Law Section in 1999 and 2000.
William D. Wick

Bill's practice is devoted to environmental counseling and
litigation, with a focus on assisting clients with respect to contaminated property.
Bill has more than 30 years of experience in prosecuting, defending, and serving
as an expert witness in environmental cases, and in working with regulatory agencies
on site investigations, cleanups, enforcement and regulatory matters.
Bill served
as an enforcement attorney with the U.S. EPA for 13 years. During his last six
years at EPA, he was Chief of the Hazardous Waste Branch of the Region IX Office
of Regional Counsel, developing enforcement policy and supervising the 30 attorneys
enforcing CERCLA, RCRA and TSCA in Arizona, Nevada, California, and Hawaii.
In
private practice for the past 18 years, Bill has represented a variety of clients
(plaintiffs and defendants) in hazardous site cases in California, New York,
Connecticut, Nebraska, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Washington.
He is
the author of chapters in two different treatises on hazardous site cleanup: “Cleanup of Hazardous Substances,” Chapter
52, California
Environmental Law and Land Use Practice (Matthew-Bender Treatise) and “Hazardous
Waste Considerations,” Chapter 6, California Real Property Sales Transactions (California Continuing Education of the Bar Treatise).
He is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubble (highest rating) and is
rated “Superb” by avvo.com (highest rating). He has been consistently
selected by other lawyers as a “Northern California Super Lawyer” in
Environmental Law by Law & Politics (2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005). He
was named among 455 lawyers honored in The International Who’s Who
of Environmental Lawyers 2009. He is a former member of and now advisor
to the Executive Committee of the Environmental Section of the State Bar of California,
and is a member (and former Chair) of the Environmental Section of the Bar Association
of San Francisco. Named an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University School
of Law, he is a frequent speaker and writer on environmental issues (and has
been a contributor to "The Practitioner" column on environmental law
in the San Francisco
Daily Journal and Los Angeles Daily Journal).
Anna L. Nguyen

Anna Nguyen holds a J.D. degree from the
University of California, Hastings and has practiced law in California since
2003. Anna has both legal and business experience handling the environmental
issues arising in real estate development through her clerkships with the San
Francisco Redevelopment Agency and Alameda County District Attorney's Office,
Environmental Division. She also serves as the Chair of the Alameda County Bar
Association's Real Estate Section for the 2008-2010 term. Prior to her law practice,
Anna worked as a real estate development manager for Spieker Properties.
Annette N. Castro Stella

Annette Stella received her law degree in 1990 from Cornell
Law School. She practices environmental law in both litigation and transactional
areas. Her experience includes environmental insurance, regulatory compliance,
and real property transactions. Annette is licensed to practice law in California
and Illinois. She is a member of the California Bar Association.
Peter Ton

Peter Ton obtained a J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law in
2001. Since joining the firm in 2005, Peter has exclusively practiced environmental
law, counseling clients on a wide range of environmental issues including regulatory
compliance, environmental insurance, and real property transactions. He has also
represented clients in state and federal environmental litigation, administrative
enforcement proceedings, and permitting and rulemaking proceedings.
Peter is dedicated to finding innovative yet practical solutions for resolving
complex environmental issues and maintaining effective communication with clients
in light of increasing global attention to the environment. He is a member of
the State Bar of California, Bar Association of San Francisco, and Alameda County
Bar Association.
